The classical stoppered reagent bottles are moulded from DURAN™ borosilicate 3.3 Type 1 glass, and are suitable for the storage of liquid and solid chemicals and reagents. The bottles feature a wide conical ground joint neck and comply with ISO 4796-2. The wider neck is more convenient for handling powders.

Traditional glass stoppered reagent bottles are suitable for autoclaving at 121 or 134 °C, or dry heat sterilization. Polyethylene, or PTFE, standard taper stoppers offer an alternative to glass stoppers. Both the wide- and narrow-necked versions of the DURAN® ISO 4796-2 reagent bottles are available in clear or amber borosilicate 3.3 Type 1 glass.
